South Central MN | My cropping plans were already set in the fall, some even as far back as the summer. I try to plan ahead and rotate ground here so have somewhat of an idea what I will be putting in two years from now on some ground, work off farm in the winter and some of the summer so not 100% relying on farm income.
I try to contract grain when prices look favorable to what I am spending on them, already have some corn and soybeans committed. Worked out very well on a couple K of bean bushels when I hit near the peak last February, I know many guys were holding out for more but it was looking good enough for me...
