Dodge County, WI | I see a lot of short wheelbase (less than 175") semi tractors with 39-41' trailers, they're not bridging far enough overall length.
Also, the symmetrical hoppers, like Timpte has, overloads the rear axles.
Wilson has some models that offset the hopper ahead a bit, but I'm betting many on here would think that there was something wrong with that 'wasted space' at the back bunk. But it transfers some of the weight forward on to the tractor, where it belongs.
That being said, we've gotten pulled over a few times in the last 12 years or so that we've owned a semi and never had anything but overall weight measured, never even get out the tape measure to check the bridge length. | |
