Post below reminded me of something that pops into my head every time I see a post about truck weights or lengths.

Honestly what percentage of trucks leaving the fields at harvest are perfectly legal weight wise? I read these posts and suspect we have hypocrites.

You took the words right out of my thoughts! Here, overloading is a big issue. I have seen lots of 100,000 plus on roads. We have some roads busted up for being overweight.

Now, on the other side of the coin. Oilfield trucks are doing more damage than grain farmers. Some oil companies have rebuilt roads to nice specs to keep peace with neighbors.
