You are absolutely correct. Tillage isn't the answer. Rather it is very useful tool for those of us who are organic. Tillage, Pesticides, and synthetic fertilizer are all detrimental to soil health in my opinion..so what do you use and what do you avoid..it's all a trade off in the end it seems.


Healthy soil can actually break down the pesticides and manufactured fertilizers over time. If you till the soil you have no soil ecosystem or structure which can biologically do anything naturally. Eventually the tilled soil will degrade and turn to desert sand.
