I'm from a completely different climate than you, but it's always seemed to me that it takes 3 or so years for ground in the transition to no-till to produce with similar fields that have been no-till for 15-20 years. If I were you, I'd probably try to split a field half and half and mark it with fence posts, then check for yield differences both in the corn the first year and the beans the next year, then go where the money is.
