Bshauler, you can’t be serious....what percentage of farmers do you think have 50% of the cash to put into their crops....I say less than 10%. If you farm 5k acres half corn and beans you need 2 million or so to put the crop in, all these farmers have 1 million cash laying around? I bet s bunch don’t have that much net worth...


I bet 50 percent of farmers don’t barrow money. Lots of old farmers. Do you really think that 65 year old down the road can’t put in 500 acres of crops and pay for it as he goes?

500 acres at $600 an acre is only $300,000. If he owns the land or pays rent in the fall it would only be $200,000.
