I think he's exactly right I don't know how many guys that have half of the money laying around that it cost them to farm. What about the younger guys and starting farmers? I seriously doubt they do. If having half the money it takes to raise a crop and have that other 50% in cash was a requirement there would not be a lot of guys farming.

It all depends, farming is a business and the lender wants the borrower to have as

much at stake growing the crop as he does.  This is common practice, and of course

each farm is different.  These are tough times.
