EC IL | There is actually a basement shower and a drain hole that the bypass water heater dump into. I have zero idea where that water is going as there is no sump pump. Maybe since the house was built on a hill they tapped into a field tile or something equally as bad these days lol.
Just to the left of the photo is a wash sink. I'll just put the washer discharge into that for now...it may not be a huge improvement but it does bypass the P trap. Then I'll take the trap off and cap it like it probably should be.
I have no idea why the old owner or past plumber did this. Hopefully it was just laziness and not something worse that i'll figure out when i convert it back. | |
