SE IL and SW IN
Doing only rough calculations, because I really no longer need to convince myself that this is what I need to do on my farm, the acres planted to corn in this environment vs. other treatments which includes continuous no-till and other cover crop strategies, gives a 24 bu/acre gain with lower input costs. This is a long term strategy of continuous no-till mostly corn with an annual planting of cover that includes rye, or ryegrass, brassicas oats and legumes including hairy vetch and crimson clover. There is a whole lot more going on here than a yield increase.
