The worms have their limits though. I no tilled soybeans into thick 6' tall rye this June. I baled 80 5'x5' round bales off of 16 acres this November, and still left quite a bit of residue behind. For reference, normally I get one round bale/acre if I bale bean stubble. Judging by the earthworm castings, and holes in the ground, there's plenty of worms there.
