Subject: RE: Spring Wheat vs Soybeans.. what gives?

West of Mpls MN about 50 miles on Hwy 12
I had all my soybeans planted in April in 2012. They were planted into perfect conditions. I don't think we had a frost until December. I averaged 60+ bushel soybeans in 2012.

In 2014, my last soybeans were planted the last week of June. All my soybean acres were mudded in. We had a record PP that year here. Our soybean growing season ended in early to mid September in 2014. I averaged 24 bushel soybeans in 2014.

This year, most my soybeans were planted the first week of June. They were mudded in. They look much better than any soybeans planted around here in May. Some of those have been re-planted. Many more acres should have been re-planted.

By the end of the week, the days will start getting shorter, and some of my soybeans that just now germinated in the dried out mudded in spots after this last rain event don't have fuzzy leaves on them yet. I wonder what my soybeans will yield this year...I wonder when this years growing season is going to end?
