Scott City, KS

How big of a tractor will you put on the strip-till rig? We have ran a 9320 (8-10 inches deep) and a 9420 (10-12 inches deep) on a 16-row unit going about 6-6.5 mph. I think it would take a very big tractor to pull a 24 row at much depth.

FWIW, we ran a 16-row strip till rig on JD's SF2.  We planted 3-6 months later with a 24-row planter on JD SF2 with no problems.  We recorded the heading degrees when we strip-tilled, so the planter would just pull into the field and get lined up and set an "A" and then enter the degrees.  It worked great.  RTK would be an unneeded pain in our rear.
