I agree with Dan. I think you need something bigger than a 9420 for a 24 row unit at 8".
Last year, I think guys were charging $12-$14/acre for NH3 & liquid in my area. I bet it will take $15/acre for dual product strip-till this year. Most of the custom guys are only going 8", so yes, I would ask for more $$ to go deeper.
