Subject: RE: RTK.............Strip till, etc?

north central indiana

Our Cat dealer has told us that there are some farms running the HP signal from Omnistar on their strip till rigs in the fall. Then are able to Auto-Guide in the spring with the same HP signal. We are gonna strip till  a boatload of corn ground this fall. If the Mt 765 and 16 row planter will not stay on the strips this spring we will resort to manual steering down our Auto-Guided fall strips. There are a few guys with littler operations running strip till on beans and corn and believe it or not, they still steer their tractors by hand!!! Can't wait to get the strip till bar and liquid tanks ready to go! Gonna pull a 16 row Progressive and a 1600 gallon all steer tank, with an Mt 835B. I would think we should have plenty of power even in some of the "goat" hills we farm!

Our 4920 with sf2 will struggle to follow the same tracks we made the first pass of rup. There is just to much movement of the starfire reciever on an airbag suspended machine. So we just manually steer on the second pass of r-up. U can normally see the old tire tracks in the beans.
