Buy a permit. They are cheap and then you don't have to worry. You can't go out of state with a base plate. Some states like Indiana alows it if your whithin 150 miles from home. Other states dont If stopped they can force the correct plate on you which will be over $3000. Plus nail you for overweight since you plate is invalid.
