I'm a bit shocked over so many negative comments about co-ops. I can't imagine feeling like a captive. Go somewhere else.
The co-ops have an important role, they keep everyone competitive, unless they've been run into the ground. The guys around here, probably do half of their business with co-ops. I bet they average over $20,000 cash paid out, per year, for each farm. Makes me pretty glad they exist and will continue to.
