Central Iowa
I'm personally fine with it if they rewrite the conservation plans to be realistic. In our area I would say 1% of the farms are in compliance year in out. Most of our ground rolls quite a bit and unless you are no-tilling, contouring, and in a 50/50 rotation you're out of compliance. They have to let a little tillage go but not let those guys who just run a field finisher over every acre get by with it. Set reasonable residue count thresholds and I'm all for it. In addition I'm all for penalizing guys who make no effort to build or maintain waterways. IMO they deserve to get hammered. I despise government but I also despise poor stewardship of the land.
