If a company sells a GMO seed to a farmer, then the act would allow farmers to finish out their crops without fear of a judge ruling against the crop and prevent them from harvesting it. We all know that rulings are being made in our court systems without good scientific data. The regulations placed on GMO crops to be approved for use in the US are very intensive. Bayer recently stated that it took them 9 to 10 years to get approved for Glytol cotton. Monsanto says that it takes 8 to 10 years to get approval for GMO crops in the US while outside the US. Approval can be gained in 3 to 4 years. | |
