Subject: Re: soil structure and health

Saskatchewan, big whitetail country!!!
The original question was about soil structure, not a no-til is the gospel rant. I find tillers take things way to personally on here. so we should keep it about building soil, and soil structure maybe?

We could talk about how tillage preserves the soil for future generations? NOT

Or we could just fall into the old rut of, it don't work here. Our soil is different a guy tried it once. My ripped stuff outyielded my no-til stuff. (right, do't take into account mining the soil or anything! lol)

Thing is, the guy who ripped it will have a huge influx of nutrients from the rapid breakdown of the residue and om that the previous guy built up for twenty years, and will think himself a genius. lol It is a mindset, we all do things differently. No need to get all fired up when a guy asks a question as to why someone would actually choose to smear the soil after years of building it up. A simple question. Why do some guys do this? We are curious is all.
