They don't want to/can't figure out how to farm that way. Plus the ground is to hard for anything to ever grow in it and they need to cover every inch of it before spring so they know the fields. And no kid ever no-tilled the carpet anyway, right? Even my late grandpa who plowed most of his life could see how no-till helped the soil.
