I believe you have an inflated opinion of where the ethanol industry stands in the grand scheme of the oil business. You see, the oil companies are "rational"----they aren't going to cut off their nose to spite their face....

what they do like is seeing ethanol production at levels above the mandate----that devalues ethanol and allows them to maximize their margins..

since they could give a rat's patoot about the rest of the ag industry, they are your new "best buds" in keeping the petal to the metal on ethanol production regardless of what it may do to the long term viability of the livestock business, where price response is much slower to respond to changes in economic conditions to the point some will not survive the coming year if this turns out to be the mother of all train wrecked crops...

and when the dust settles, you will have less demand for corn in 2014 and beyond when your likelyhood of growing larger crops increases...

Hell, I don't care----run this ag industry into the ditch in the interest of short-term gain and ignore the long term consequences....

it doesn't have to be this way, but appears the direction the majority want to go....

have at 'er boys....
