SESD Sious Falls | So, if ethanol proponents got on here and said the government needs to intervene here--the market is too volatile and disorderly and we are going to hurt ethanol long term without some govt. intervention. . . . Then we would have more people on here complaining about govt. distorting the market and ethanol plants should be free to fail. . . .
Let the strong and efficient survive and the weak and inefficient go out of business.
As far as the mandate goes, I would like somebody to tell me with a straight face that oil company's would gladly blend ethanol into our fuel supplies based upon market forces. They hate ethanol and would gladly sacrifice some of their huge profits for a few years to get rid of ethanol. Now, once the ethanol companies were all broke and the industry was bought out for pennies on the dollar by big oil they would probably start some of the plants again to improve their gasoline production efficiency. But big oil would control the market. Valero already has a huge foot in the door. | |
