northwest tennessee | You are getting alot of good ideas and I would go ahead and starting getting a few head even though they are high. It is going to be like buying any stock I guess and the average is what will count. The problem will be getting a small number bred but I think with as little as 10 head you can have a bull. You normally dont lose on a bull when you look at what you pay and then at what he pounds out at when sold. Any good bull will double in size pretty much. The one thing I would watch is where I bought and make sure they are clean and come from a good vacc. program. You can bring home alot more than cattle and it will take the fun out of it fast. I would think some younger bred cows or maybe 3 in 1s. Heifers can be a pain sometimes and if I didnt know what they were bred to I would not take someones word. They are always bred to an easy calving black bull and then they have an elephant. | |
