Amsoil overrated?? How come? You obviously haven't seen any ASTM testing on amsoil. I can buy one oil change for my pickup that costs me about $75. I drive about 20,000 miles a year. I don't know of another oil that RECOMMENDS 25,000mile drain intervals. I drain the oil usually right around my birthday so its easy to remember. Why would I change my oil when I don't have to? I can be doing better things. When I bought my 1994 chevy half ton it had 137,000 miles. The second day I owned it, I switched to all amsoil. Im at 217,000 miles now and have only changed engine oil 4 times. All other fluids will get changed next year when they have 100000 miles on them and will get sent in for analysis. And why not trust a specialized lubricant testing laboratory?? They can tell me things like fuel dilution percentages, antifreeze contamination, oxidation, ppm of every wear metal etc. Can a silly on board oil life monitor tell me things like that? Not to my knowledge
