just to much of a fire hazard in my opinion. true you have a water heater and furnace but they have some safety controls for the environment that a vehicle doesn't have.
  To each his own, I just wouldn't do it.  feel the same about those houses with drive in garage where bedrooms are over the garage. attached garage with the right dry wall is ok.
