I think most of those grades of phos acid would be the white acid (ortho's) like the kind used in soda. I also remember using a phos based bare metal treatment once to prep the surface for a special primer that DuPont sold.

There was a claim that some of the Fe micronutrient products originated from bed spring factorys during the acid wash treatment process, but IIRC the acid was not phosphorous based.
