Central Iowa | Maybe those sales are low in the overall scheme of things, buth those sales are almost all in North America-most likely the corn belt. They will be a long time trying to make them up by selling Masseys. Masseys don't enjoy a pristine reputation most places in the corn belt. I would never choose one over my orange tractors. Anything they save in marketing by consolidating will be lost by losing customers for not only their tractor line, also the Gleaner combines, and it is going to cost a fortune to reverse the image of Massey in the midwest. The sales will slump on the Gleaner enough now that they will gleefully consider dropping them next. Just wait and see. Richenhagen will be the downfall of the Agco Corporation. | |
