We have a couple of these jacks and have found that keeping them clean and DRY ( ie no oil , grease or even wd40) really helps alot. Seems every time you oil them they pick up dirt and dust and gradually the little pins gum up, causing alot of the problems guys complain about. Take some degreaser, get all the oil/grease/crud out and keep them dry and they work just fine. Yes they may be a lil layer of surface rust, but at least they wont jam up .
Keep the mechanism clean and well lubed with a dry graphite spray. Works for me, the jack works good and the lube does not attract dirt. |
