You are thinking of the JD Stackwagon. I own one and used a month ago to stack corn stover. A similar machine was the Heston Stackhand. Both machines compressed the hay or stalks after it was blown into chamber. When you had the stack made you either unloaded it in the field and picked it up later with a stack mover or hauled it home.
