EC MN - Hour North of 'The Cities' | Since you went away with the starter program, have you increased the rates of your broadcast program?
You also speak about low fertility soils seem to be favorable for starter, and I would agree. Some areas you only get to play the hand your dealt, and most often that hand ain't so good...
We have a good P Test, but K is another story (adequate at best). While K was 'cheap' we were able to build on a few farms, but it is rather costly now to even maintain the level and don't want to see the test going backward if we cut too much on the broadcast program (soil test goes back to start level before building over time, U of MN).
Banding nutrients in the seed/root zone seems to be very economical in our situation, but its good to see what all of the puzzle pieces look like before we put them together to get our final result.
