WCIN
Almost every planter around me uses some type of starter, in the trench or 2x2. Most use a 2x2 liquid of some formulation, I still am using a dry blend.

I have tryied broadcast starter type fertilizer with zero performance on clay loam soils vs 2x2.

I try for 213# of 18-46-0 and 10# potash/ac 2x2 vs spreading 600#. What a joke that was. Weeds loved it.

Put the phosphate and micros where it needs to be for corn and save money on fertilizer.
