What they have learned is cows handle winter better, older cows calves will compete with young cows calves on grass, meaning same size or bigger when wean. Less opens then pasture. Finding lots of benefits to it actually. It works here because of pasture rent prices. If you are in area that still has $150-200 pair rent for summer. Put em on grass . But if have $400-550 pair rent. Drylot em cheaper. | |
