It should have been left in timber as it was prior to farming. It should never have been farmed to begin with. I
Won't agree or disagree, but was this an area that never had a forest fire, that would have wiped out all of the vegetation and put it in a state highly susceptible to erosion? Some of the bigger fires we've had around here in the last few decades left the area pretty dead for quite a number of years as the sandy soils are not great for new forest vegetation to begin with.
