NW Wisconsin | It can be overwhelming to know what to do signing up for SS and Medicare. There are tons of mailers and phone calls all trying to sell you something.
The best advice is to contact someone in your area that can walk you through the options that is the best for you. It totally depends on your health, medical history, current meds you are taking, and family history. In regards to taking SS early or wait till you are 70, it is a crapshoot. In talking with our CPA and tax person, we both had too many friends our age who passed away and never collected anything they had paid in,
I am 70, signed up for Medicare at 65 and starting collecting SS at 67. No regrets with either decision.
