I just signed up fo SS and plan on taking at 62. If I waited till full retirement age off 66-10mo I wouldn’t break even till 78 and that doesn’t take into consideration the reduced IRA withdrawals that can grow. My family history says 83 is my limit.
If you spend down your IRA waiting to draw SS you may wind up with less to pass on since SS ends at death where you could have saved your personal retirement account using SS instead. | |
