One thing I wished we had done differently is SS. I wish instead of us both drawing at about 65, i wish we had just drawn on hers for several years alone. Hers was about 40% of mine, but both together does not give us 140%. So we could have drawn on hers while letting mine get to bigger payments later.
Good point for married folks, especially if in good health and have longevity on either side.
Back to original question, log on to SS.gov, create your user ID and password, that can take you to Medicare site too. IIRC.
On Medicare site have all your prescriptions handy for last 12 months or just the one you use for maintenance purposes.
Medicare site has the different coverages available for your area, along with the local pharmacies.
Plan on spending some time on both sites, you have a couple of months to review/think/ask questions, no one answer 'fits' all, IMHO. |
