Coles County, Illinois | I signed up in early Sept. I turn 65 this month and my medicare insurance started Oct.1. I'm waiting until I get full SS payments in Feb. of 23. Signing up for Medicare is fairly easy and you can do it online. They wanted a picture of my Drivers License and it took a couple weeks for them to E-Mail me that I was accepted. I just got my Card today. The standard medical insurance (Part B) costs $148.50/month. and there are different prescription plans to buy mine was less than $8/month.
The real decision in my mind is whether you buy a Medicare supplement, a medicare advantage, or no additional coverage. This is a rather complex subject but there are Free to you helpers to call. I mulled it over for a couple weeks before I decided. | |
