Subject: RE: Hip replacement recovery?

I just had mine replaced 3 months ago (I’m 55). My niece is a physician assistant (PA) for an orthopedic doctor. He does not perform the anterior method. It takes a special table and most of his patients are older and recover well using the posterior method. He said to become proficient in performing the anterior method the doctor needs to perform at least 50 under the observation of a another doctor who has been performing the anterior method.

So to get to the point the doctor who performed my anterior replaces approximately 10 to 15 hips a week. When they go in the front NO muscles are released (cut). I walked out with a walker 4 hours after the surgery. Your recovery will be much faster if they repair from the front.

I should have done the surgery at least a year ago. I feel 100% better and can do everything I used to do before the pain started controlling my life.

Make sure you get a physician who specializes in the anterior method if you chose that direction. I would highly recommend my doctor which is out of Mooresville Indiana. If you would like addition information feel free to contact me.
