south central WI | I'm late to this party. When I was on the town board we switched from the county plowing the roads to a private party. It saved a decent amount of money.
Now to your question. It would be hard to pay a set price for plowing by the hour. Some may have a big articulated or mfwd tractor and some may have a 4020 with a back blade. You would need separate prices for every machine. Could you set up a price per mile per inch of snow? That way the big tractors make more money per hour since they are faster. The smaller guy can still make money if needed. | |
