Near-north Ontario, French River | Agreed Bob, things sure are done differently here. Here every town, and county has a fleet of trucks and province has 100s of trucks. Everyone starts salting/plowing as soon as the roads start to cover over and generally have everything cleaned up within 8-12 after a storm. In my part of the province ( it could be different in the far north) its rare for roads to be closed let alone closed for 2-3 days at a time. Generally only get closed due to visibility issues, not because they are impassable .I'm really surprised to hear how low the service levels are in some parts of the States. |
