| In our county in Iowa and I assume all of Iowa the townships have nothing to do with the roads, the county does all rural road maintenance. As a township trustee I am very happy that this is the case. I am guessing that the counties took over the roads in the 20's or 30's. It seems very inefficient for each township to have all the equipment. I see it in Illinois and wonder how much corruption there is in the whole system. Hope I didn't ruffle any feathers.
