southern MN | My county does a better job that the Mankato state highway office does at clearing roads. To the west the state office does a much better job. Some years ago the outstate offices were cut back on hours to concentrate on downtown MN.
I will say tho a whole lot of money was spent on dozer work this year, there are dozer tracks pretty much from New Ulm to the South Dakota border, pushing the snow walls back into fields and creating a berm to collect snow, a snow fence made of snow. That can’t be cheap work.....
The townships run a grader and will get to most gravel that day after the storm. Dairy folk might blow out a drift early to get the milk truck or school bus through, but on their dime I do believe. I don’t live on a township road so some might be different than I perceive.
