Back in the mid 80's I worked for Guy who farmed with a 1086 and a 4440. All tillage was done with the 1086. It burned less fuel and pulled better. The JD did ride better. All said they both had good and bad points. I will say the binder worked a lot better on the JD stack wagon. PTO would run faster and not plug the spout stacking cornstalks.
