I am a firm believer that property tax is the worst way to tax as it is the hardest to control and can tax someone right off their land/house, however, it is how Illinois tries to fund its schools. I know this can get political, please do not make it political as this is not the old boiler room, if you want a small commentary that is fine by me, I dont want this thread deleted. I am very curious where people are located and what the current rates are at around the country. We are in Mclean county which is a fairly affluent county in the middle of Illinois, we have a state university and State Farm headquartered in our county but those do not reside in our school district, so our rates are different than other parts of our county. Currently our rate sits at $33, just wondering if this is fairly normal, high/low? What are others seeing as rates around the country?

Hang on.
