Subject: RE: Farmland Taxes

North of London
Our taxes are based on value of the property then assessment is set at a different rate for farmland, resident or business.

School taxes are a big portion but Province also contributes to school budget so it is not all on property.

BTW increasing values of farms, now bringing $25,000 and above an acre does increase our taxes.
When a new assessed value is produced, every 5? years increases are phased in over the next 5 years.

In some cases actual taxes are not increasing on residential because of increased income from farmland because of increased values of farms.
