South Central Wi.

While the original purpose, supplying income to rural communities worked for a while, it like most government programs, grow into a bloated bureaucratic mess. It has used our own stupidity, greed, ignorance, or egos (take your pick) to keep us just at the edge of profitability. Now they can dangle this carrot in front of us so we will follow all their rules and regulations and get us to report all of our production to them. Everyone on here seems to think we would be better off if the government would get out of our lives. Maybe we would, but it would put us at a disadvantage in the world market because almost all agriculture in all countries is under some type of government subsidy. If we could all got out from under our governments controls would we all be better? Maybe. But we would all still be driven by our stupidity, greed, ignorance or egos.
