An affordable, abundant, and reliable food supply is the mission of the USDA. They cover up in buzzwords about innovation, efficiency, sustainablity, equal access, etc. but their real mission is to keep us around to grow until it hurts so the other segments of the economy can function. When one person grows the food for three hundred others, it frees them up to perform all sorts of other tasks! It's quietly the greatest economic multiplier of the Industrial Age.

We're not suppose to make much money....
