Brookston, IN | I don't talk to many people about the farm except grandpa, until this post. I am a product of his ideas and outlook about how he feels he's been treated. I mean no disrespect to anyone, just never knew any different, ya know? I agree with you that the blame for losing land is on yourself and yourself alone, trying to figure out how to do the opposite of losing! I'm learning as I'm going. Trying to shake the bleak perspective grandpa has, he's the best guy I know and a true role model, but has gotten cynical about farming as his farm shrinks while others grow. It's hard to hear bad things about neighbors all day from a person you respect and not believe some of it, there's that stuff I'm try get rid of! Glad to hear a lot of positive things here. | |
