Panhandle of Ne. | Welcome aboard Cole. I'm going to be honest with you. Don't know how big this trucking company is, how many drivers/trucks but, if you have 5 or more full time employees in this business, I honestly don't think you will have time to do a decent job of farming and get the farm work done in a timely manner. With trucks and drivers, there will always be an issue that needs tended to immediately.
Also, if the trucking company is making decent money, focus on that. Build the business up, keep it a class act that would make it easier to sell for a profit someday and then focus on farming. There are times that look better than others to get into farming and currently it looks to be tough for a period of time whereas the freight hauling business is looking to be a decent way to make living currently.
Do a good job in one business not a half azz job in two.
Whatever you choose to do, good luck.
