Rome, KS
Trent,

I'm several miles from you but have some questions. When does the rain usually shut off in the early summer. When does the rain show back up again in late summer? How long is that bigger dry spell. You either need to get them finished before it get's hot and dry or push reproduction into the cooler and supposedly wetter time of the year. What I've found in the eastern part of SC KS is to plant the beans late enough that they stay small enough through August to just stay alive. Then, when it tries to rain again in Sept. they go ahead and bloom and fill. But that's here. And some years the rain is so sporadic, it doesn't matter when you plant them. But you can plant them too late and end up with nothing.
